Is low stomach acid the cause of your bloating?
Let's go deeper into understanding why you are bloated...and how to fix it!
In my last blog we discussed how your diet can be part of the issue with your bloating and digestive symptoms like constipation, loose stools, acid reflux or indigestion.
Today I want to tell you one more CAUSE of your bloating:
Your stomach acid.
If you find that meat, chicken or high protein meals in general cause more of your bloating, then low stomach acid might be the reason.
When food enters your stomach, it releases stomach acid (HCL) to break down proteins. HCL also triggers your small intestine to release pancreatic enzymes to further digest foods and your gallbladder to release bile to emulsify fats. So if for some reason you are not producing enough stomach acid (HCL), that whole chain reaction of healthy digestion is impacted. And you feel that on your end with more bloating, maybe some acid reflux or just bad breath that does not resolve despite good dental hygiene.
Are you maybe even avoiding meat or chicken, or have you gone vegetarian as digesting meats was hard for you?
These can all be signs that your stomach acid needs support.
You can start adding some Apple Cider Vinegar before meals and see if that helps your bloating and improves your bowel movements.
If you experience burning with ACV, this is a sign your stomach lining is irritated and you need that investigated.
Make sure to sip ACV through a straw so you don't damage your tooth enamel with the acid.
In my next blog I'll tell you MORE steps for better digestion and less bloating so don't miss it!
